Thanks to a grant from Canada Post Community Foundation for Children, and money from the Town of St. Andrews’ Albert McQuoid Fund, the St. Andrews Arts Council was able to purchase fifteen xylophones for the St. Andrews Arts Council’s FREE Music in the Schools Program at Vincent Massey Elementary School.

The xylophones were delivered during a kindergarten/grade 1 music class and the children were so excited. Music teacher Stephanie Archer showed the kids all about how to use the instruments and they each had a chance to test them out.

The xylophones will be used by all grades at VMES.

About the Canada Post Community Foundation for Children

The Foundation exists to improve the lives of Canadian children by supporting organizations devoted to their health and well-being. It raises funds through an annual in-store donation campaign and special stamp release, as well as a year-round employee payroll donation program and local fundraisers. All money is donated to organizations in the province or territory where it was raised. The Canada Post Community Foundation for Children aims to ensure that every child in Canada is happy, healthy and part of a community that supports and cares for them. Its mission is to have a positive effect on the lives of children in the communities Canada Post serves.
