Theatre Arts

Vicky has had an extensive career in theatre arts on the stage, in film and television as an actress and voice actor, script packager, puppeteer, playwright and teacher. She worked with the Second City Theatre Company in Toronto as an understudy and as Manager of the Second City Training Centre. Vicky became interested in puppetry while studying Chinese and Japanese Arts at University of Toronto where she created and performed an excerpt of the shadow puppet show, The Monkey King. She learned television puppetry through the renowned puppeteer, Nina Keogh, when she was selected by CBC as an apprentice for the Mr. Dress Up show. Vicky also collaborated with Ms. Keogh as the right hand of the life-size puppets used in Picoli and Lirabo, at TV Ontario.  Vicky has taught theatre courses in Toronto, Halifax, Cordoba, Argentina and in St. Stephen and St. George New Brunswick. She developed a comedy improv workshop for Canadian Army Veterans, suffering PTSD, through the Cranberry Island Retreat Centre, in Harvey, NB. She also served as Artistic Director for the St Croix Theatre Company (St. Stephen, NB) from 2015 – 2018 and co-wrote and directed a comedy based on the history of the Ganong Nature Park for the 2015 St. Stephen Chocolate Fest. She currently directs an 8-week after school puppetry workshop in collaboration with St. George Elementary School and the St. Andrews Arts Council.
