Help us reach our goal

We hope to raise $9,000 for the Opera Studies Program and your support will directly contribute to maintaining the high standard of artistry and education our program is known for, while providing crucial opportunities for emerging artists including:

  1. Helping an aspiring singer or repetiteur attend the program.
  2. Covering the cost of housing for a student during their stay.
  3. Making training more accessible for a deserving participant.
  4. Ensuring our students continue to learn from Canada’s most respected voices and coaches.

For over three decades, the St. Andrews Arts Council’s Opera Studies Program has been a beacon for young operatic talent from across Canada and beyond.

Each summer, our Opera/Vocal Techniques Workshop and Opera Repetiteur Workshop under the direction of Dr. Betty Allison and Anne Larlee bring together exceptional undergraduate singers and advanced pianists for a transformative, intensive training experience under the guidance of some of Canada’s most celebrated opera professionals.

We are immensely proud of the national reputation our program has earned — not only for the caliber of its faculty and students, but for the collaborative, artistically enriching environment it fosters in beautiful St. Andrews by-the-Sea.

As we prepare for this summer’s workshops, we invite you to become part of this tradition by joining our newly launched Friends of Opera Campaign.

All donations are fully tax-deductible, and your generosity will be recognized in our summer concert programs and on our website.

You are also cordially invited to be our guests at a special concert presented by Anne Larlee, pianist and Betty Allison, soprano in St. Andrews on August 4, 2025 in celebration of the opening of our 2025 Opera Studies Program August 4-10.

Together, we can continue to nurture Canada’s next generation of opera talent and keep St. Andrews an inspiring hub for world-class music-making.

On behalf of our faculty, students, and the St. Andrews Arts Council community, thank you for your continued support of the arts.
